Funnduro Stem

Ensure there are even gaps at the top and bottom between the faceplate and the stem body. Tighten each bolt in a cross pattern, gradually increasing the tension, and tighten to 6Nm.

The Funnduro stem uses M5 bolts with a 0.8mm thread pitch and a 18mm threaded section and includes a 1mm washer at the bolt head.

You can, but nothing happens. The Funnduro has 0mm rise, so it sits level whichever way up you bolt it — flipping only does something on a stem with rise designed into it. If you want to move the bar with the stem rather than with spacers, the Equalizer Stem flips for 10mm up or 10mm down, and the Stryge Riser has 7° built in. The Funnduro is built for the opposite job: at 30mm it has the lowest stack we make, so it gets the bar as low as it will go.

You need at least a 45mm straight section on the handlebar to fit the Funnduro stem.

Your handlebar decides the clamp — measure its centre section, because the two are not interchangeable. In 31.8mm the Funnduro comes in 35, 45 and 60mm at 110, 123 and 148g; in 35mm it comes in 35 and 45mm at 112 and 128g. On length: shorter quickens the steering and takes weight off the front wheel, longer calms it down and helps the front tyre bite on a climb. It changes your reach as well, so a big jump is a fit change, not just a feel change.

Stack height is how tall the steerer clamp is, and it sets how low your bar can go. At 30mm the Funnduro is the shortest stack in our range — most of our stems are 34 to 40mm — so it lets you drop the front end further than they do, or free up a spacer to move above the stem. It is also the lightest, starting at 110g. If you want the bar higher rather than lower, that is the job of a riser bar or a Stryge Riser.
